Chase Holland races to 9th at the Dome
After a couple of weeks away from the track, Chase Holland returned to the cockpit of his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 Modified over the weekend for the Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals in St. Louis. He came away from the event at The Dome at America’s Center with a strong top-10 finish.
With 63 Modifieds in the pit area, preliminary action was split into two nights. Holland first competed in the Thursday portion of the event and was ninth quickest in his qualifying group on the 1/5-mile oval. In his heat race, he claimed the fourth and final transfer spot to advance into the night’s $3,000-to-win A-Main. He started 13th and finished 11th in the 20-lap main event.
On Saturday, Holland turned in a fourth-to-second run in his Qualifier, putting him in the 30-lap, $10,000-to-win feature race. He rolled off 13th in the finale and advanced four positions to finish a solid ninth.
Additionally, Holland and his team won the Best Appearing Car award in the Modified division.
