Holland picks up pair of top-5 finishes in Illinois and Missouri
A two-state slate of racing was on tap for Chase Holland on the last weekend in May, and he finished no worse than third.
On Friday, Holland was part of a 14-car DIRTcar UMP Modified field at the Brownstown (Illinois) Bullring. He steered his Industrial Dock & Door Company No. 45 ride to a third-place result in his heat race on the quarter-mile track, then started the night’s 20-lap feature from the pole. He led two laps in the race and finished in the third spot, rounding out the podium behind Kenny Wallace and Ryan Hamilton. Rick Conoyer and Owen Steinkoenig finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Holland then crossed into Missouri to compete in a 22-car Modified field at Pevely’s I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park on Saturday. At the 1/3-mile speed plant, Holland won his heat and started the 20-lap A-Main from the second position. After leading the race’s first 18 circuits, he ultimately finished as runner-up, 0.399 seconds behind Conoyer. Dylan Sharp took third, with Wallace fourth and Hamilton fifth.
