Hell Tour Week 3 yields multiple top-10 finishes for Holland

Chase Holland continued with the grueling Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals portion of the Hell Tour on the last week in June. Competing in an average field size of just under 21 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds each night, he turned in a trio of top-10 results in four events.

On Thursday, the week’s Modified action began at the 1/5-mile Macon (Illinois) Speedway. Holland set the quickest time in his qualifying group in his WEST Trucking No. 45 machine and won his heat race from the pole. He started second in the 25-lap feature and was leading with five circuits remaining when his J-bar bracket broke and claimed the driveshaft. He finished 12th.

After repairs, Holland took to the track again on Friday night at Farmer City (Illinois) Raceway. He set the overall best time in qualifying on the quarter-mile oval, then started his heat from the top spot. He posted a DNF in the heat, positioning him 14th on the grid to start the 25-lap A-Main. He climbed eight spots in the race to come home sixth.

The Summit Modified Nationals schedule shifted to the quarter-mile Highland (Illinois) Speedway on Saturday, where Holland continued his strong run of qualifying with a second-place effort in his group. He took second in his heat race, and in the 25-lap main event, he started fourth and finished sixth.

On Sunday, Holland followed the Hell Tour to the Volunteer State for the completion of Week 3 at the quarter-mile Clarksville (Tennessee) Speedway. He qualified fourth in his group, but he faced adversity when he was involved in a pileup in his heat race and was unable to finish. However, he and his team thrashed to get the car patched up and Holland started the 25-lap feature from the 16th spot. He charged through the field and turned in his best finish of the week, taking the checkered flag in fifth place behind Tyler Nicely, Trent Young, Austin Rettig and Zac Harris.
