Chase Holland grabs top-10 results at Charleston and Jacksonville
On Friday and Saturday, Chase Holland raced at two tracks in Illinois and turned in a best finish of eighth.
Friday saw Holland visit the quarter-mile Jacksonville Speedway, where he piloted the No. 1 Modified in an 18-car field. After qualifying third in his group but struggling in his heat race, he rolled off 13th to start the 20-lap A-Main. He picked up four spots and finished ninth.
On Saturday, Holland was back behind the wheel of his familiar No. 45 car. At Ashmore, Illinois’ Charleston Speedway, he competed among 43 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds in the fifth running of the Leaf Tree Services .38 Special. He qualified first in his group on the quarter-mile track and was runner-up in his heat. He went on to take fifth in the dash and started from that position in the 38-lap, $2,000-to-win main event. He turned in an eighth-place result.
